In 2005, New York State activated legislation that requires restaurants and food service establishments to have specific resuscitation equipment on site. The legislation mandates specific contents and signage for the kit. First Aid Only was first to develop the Restaurant CPR Station that meets the New York State specifications and delivers cost-effective compliance with the law. In developing the opportunity, the New York State Restaurant Association connected the American Red Cross with First Aid Only not knowing there was a relationship already established. The American Red Cross, headed up by Jerilyn Hickey of the Greater Buffalo Chapter, became the exclusive distributor of the kit to New York State food service establishments, where the contents of the station are mandated.
